Organic Pear Trees - Pears
Pears
(ALL ON QUINCE 'A' ROOTSTOCK)

We are having difficulty with pears. Once again the success rate of the grafts is low, and already (10th August) we are limited for choice, especially considering pollination. If you have gardens nearby there will be other pears and this should not be a problem. We are also in the process of buying in stock from our wholesaler - unfortunately we are not able to obtain these as organic - watch this space.
Excellent, hardy early fruit.
MOONGLOW - (A/B) (3) (N) V2) Sept. Sold out
Similar to Williams Bon Chretien, but said to have better flavour.
Long, pale yellow pear, like "Williams" but less scab prone.
CONFERENCE - (B/C) (3) (S) (V2) Oct-Nov Crop failure The best -known pear, can be excellent flavour but not scab-resistant, so best in drier areas. Partially self-fertile.
LOUISE BONNE OF JERSEY (B)(2)(N)(V2) Oct. Sold out Raised 1780, Normandy. Pale green with red flush. Sweet and juicy flesh. Known to do very well in parts of eastern Scotland.
