Should be more widely-grown now that smaller trees are available for the vital netting against birds (who know a good thing when they see it!) Similar to plums in climatic requirement, but require very well drained soil. All available on 'Gisela 5' rootstock, which gives a tree around 2.5m tall. They can also be grown as a fan on a wall or fence, making netting easier.
